文学院前身是我校1954年建校时创办的中文科,后经中文系、文学与新闻学院,2009年院系调整更名为文学院。周邦式、田楚侨、刘知渐、赵克刚、董味甘、蒋洛平、杨成章、戴少瑶等知名专家,莫怀戚等著名作家执教于此,为学院发展奠定了良好的基础。1986年在学校率先获批硕士学位授予权(中国古代文学专业),2005年获得中国语言文学一级学科硕士学位授予权,在所属8个二级学科全面招生,同时招收学科教学(语文)和汉语国际教育专业硕士学位研究生。2010年创办连续出版的《区域文化与文学研究集刊》(已出版14辑)。中国语言文学一级学科为重庆市“十二五”“十三五”“十四五”重点学科,2024年获得一级学科博士学位授予权。 学院现有教职工107人,其中教授31人,副教授33人,专任教师博士76人,兼职博导16人,硕士生导师64人。学院多名教师被授予国家和省(市)级人才称号,其中享受“国务院政府特殊津贴”1人,入选重庆市“两江学者”“重庆英才·优秀科学家” “重庆英才·创新领军人才”“重庆英才·青年拔尖人才”“巴渝学者”“重庆市有突出贡献的中青年专家”等9人,省部级人才称号23人次,在国家级学会担任理事及其以上职务的专家19人。 近五年来,学院教师在《中国社会科学》《文学评论》《文学遗产》《文艺研究》《古汉语研究》等重要学术刊物上发表论文近600篇;出版“精是文库”系列专著50余部,主持编选《复兴文库》之《大后方抗战文化团体与文艺方向》等2册;承担国家社科基金重大招标项目、重点项目及一般项目等共计63项(其中在研28项),另有其他省部级及以上科研项目113项;获得教育部人文社科优秀成果奖和重庆市社会科学优秀科研成果一、二、三等奖20余项。 学院设有汉语言文学、秘书学、汉语国际教育、戏剧影视文学四个全日制本科专业。学院是教育部本科教学质量综合改革试点单位,“汉语言文学”专业为国家级特色专业和首批国家级一流本科专业建设点、“汉语国际教育”专业为重庆市一流本科专业建设点。拥有4个市级优秀教学科研团队、1门国家级一流本科课程、2门市级一流课程和5门市级精品课程。建有重庆市人文社科重点研究基地“重庆市抗战文史研究基地”、1个市级高校协同创新团队、2个市级研究生联合培养基地、1个市级研究生导师团队。 学院现有本科学生2194人,研究生528人,留学生25人。以“中学语文卓越教师人才培养模式创新实验区”建设为抓手,以教育部“专业综合改革试点项目”为契机,形成“卓越教师计划”与“地方优师计划”“精是师资计划”“学术英才计划”并驾齐驱的人才培养格局。以多种方式与中小学、企事业单位开展项目合作,建成“中学语文卓越教师人才培养模式创新实验区”“中西部初中语文国家级骨干教师培训基地”“重庆市中学骨干教师(语文)培训基地”“重视传媒戏剧影视文学校企合作基地”等人才培养平台。 学院始终坚持党的领导,秉承“惟精惟是,以文化人”办院理念,以蓬勃昂扬之姿,为书写中国式现代化建设的重庆篇章贡献智慧和力量。 The College of Liberal Arts traces its origins back to the Department of Chinese Language established in 1954 when Chongqing Normal University was founded. It underwent several transformations from the Department of Chinese Language, the College of Literature and Journalism, and eventually was renamed the College of Liberal Arts in 2009 following the university’s restructuring. Renowned scholars and literary figures, including Zhou Bangshi, Tian Chuqiao, Liu Zhijian, Zhao Kegang, Dong Weigan, Jiang Luoping, Yang Chengzhang, Dai Shaoyao, and the acclaimed writer Mo Huaici, once taught here, laying a solid foundation for the college’s development. In 1986, the college became the first in the university to admit master’s students in Ancient Chinese Literature, and in 2005, it was granted the right to confer master's degrees in Chinese Language and Literature, enrolling students in eight second-level disciplines, alongside professional master's degrees in Curriculum and Teaching Theory of Chinese Language and Literature and Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL). In 2010, it founded the Journal of Regional Culture and Literature Research (14 issues up to 2024) The discipline of Chinese Language and Literature has been recognized as a key discipline by Chongqing Municipality during the "12th Five-Year Plan", "13th Five-Year Plan" and "14th Five-Year Plan" periods. In 2024, the college was approved (the approval was announced) to confer doctoral degrees in the first-level discipline of Chinese Language and Literature. Currently, the college has 107 faculty members, including 31 professors, 33 associate professors, and 76 holding doctoral degrees. There are also 16 part-time doctoral supervisors and 64 master’s supervisors. Several faculty members have been honored with national and provincial talent titles, including one expert who receives the "Special Government Allowance of the State Council" and nine others who have been selected as “Liangjiang Scholars,” “Outstanding Scientists of Chongqing,” “Leading Innovative Talents of Chongqing,” “Young Top Talents of Chongqing,” “Bayu Scholars,” and “Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions in Chongqing.” There are a total of 23 individuals with provincial and ministerial-level talent titles and 19 experts serving as directors or higher positions in national academic associations. In the past five years, the college’s faculty members have published nearly 600 academic papers in prestigious journals such as Social Sciences in China, Literary Review, Literary Heritage, Literature & Art Studies, and Research in Ancient Chinese Language. They have also published over 50 monographs in the “Jingshi Library” series, edited two volumes in the “Revitalization Library” titled Cultural Organizations and Literary Directions in the Rear of Anti-Japanese War, and undertaken 63 projects funded by the National Philosophy and Social Science Foundation (including 28 ongoing projects), along with 113 other provincial and ministerial-level projects. The college has received more than 20 awards, including the Ministry of Education’s Humanities and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award and the Chongqing Municipality Social Science Outstanding Achievement Awards. The college currently offers four full-time undergraduate programs: Chinese Language and Literature with Education, Secretarial Science, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCISOL), and Drama and Film Literature. It is a pilot unit for the Ministry of Education’s Comprehensive Reform of Undergraduate Teaching Quality. The "Chinese Language and Literature with Education" program is a National Featured Major and one of the first National First-Class Undergraduate Programs; the "Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages" program has been recognized as a Chongqing First-Class Undergraduate Program. The college has four municipal-level excellent teaching and research teams, one National First-Class Undergraduate Course, two Municipal-Level First-Class Courses, and five Municipal-Level Quality Courses. It has the “Chongqing Anti-Japanese War Cultural and Historical Studies Research Base,” a key research base in the Humanities and Social Sciences in Chongqing, a Municipal University Collaborative Innovation Team, along with two municipal-level graduate training bases and one municipal-level graduate supervisor team. The college currently has 2,194 undergraduate students, 528 graduate students, and 25 international students. It focuses on innovative talent cultivation by leveraging the “Innovative Experimental Zone for the Training of Excellent Secondary School Chinese Teachers” and the Ministry of Education’s “Comprehensive Reform Pilot Project” as platforms. This has resulted in a diversified talent cultivation system that integrates the "Excellent Teacher Program," the "Local Teacher Enhancement Program," the "Jingshi Teacher Program," and the "Academic Talent Program." The college actively engages in project collaborations with primary and secondary schools as well as enterprises, establishing multiple talent cultivation platforms such as the “Innovative Experimental Zone for the Training of Excellent Secondary School Chinese Teachers,” the “National Backbone Teacher Training Base for Chinese in Central and Western Regions,” the “Chongqing Middle School Backbone Teacher (Chinese) Training Base,” and the “School-Enterprise Cooperation Base for Drama and Film Literature in Chongqing Media College.” The college is unwavering in its adherence to the Party's leadership and upholds the philosophy of "Strive for Excellence,Seek Truth and Cultivate Individuals Through Culture."
